Following the daily Abhishekam, the Divine Mother is adorned with a beautiful new Sari. This hand-woven regal garment is over 12 yards in length and is woven in accordance with scriptural guidelines. The offering of garments is one of the shodasa updacharas, 16 important offerings a devotee can make to the Divine Mother. The devotees participating in Vastra alankarana Seva are said to recieve the grace of Maha Lakshmi, and will be blessed with many forms of wealth in their lifetime.
