Following the Abhishekam, Sri Srinivasa is adorned with a beautiful Melchat Vastra. This hand-woven regal garment is over 12 yards in length and is woven in accordance with scriptural guidelines. The devotees participating in Vastra alankarana Seva hand over the garment to the temple priest and are allowed for a special post Abhishekam darshan of the Lord.
The offering of garments is one of the shodasa updacharas, 16 important offerings a devotee can make to the Lord, and confers the blessings and grace of Srinivasa upon the devotee, along with prosperity and spiritual and material wellbeing.
